The stays in Jaipur that keep you close to the quieter side of town

Jaipur is known for its beautiful palaces, lively and colourful bazaars, and the streets full of tourists. This is exactly what I was seeking from my trip. Similar to other tourists, I had been expecting to spend days exploring crowded bazaars, historical fortresses, and ticking off popular places on my to-do list.

It became clear to me that I wanted to see another face of Jaipur. However, staying at a hotel far away from the city centre changed my whole perception of the city. Mornings started calmly, evenings were relaxing, and I could enjoy the city’s heritage without being surrounded by crowds.

The quieter neighbourhoods in Jaipur offered a different perspective

Jaipur’s bustling nature is one of its many attractions, but at times it can be quite overpowering during weekends and high seasons. Staying in a quieter neighbourhood of Jaipur gave me the chance to relax yet still have access to all the attractions.

I discovered that convenience in Jaipur doesn’t always mean staying in the city centre

I thought beforehand that staying at accommodations near the most popular sites would save time. However, when I got there, I was surprised to find that many quiet neighbourhoods had equal road connectivity without being as crowded after a visit to the sites.

Many hotels in Jaipur in places like Bani Park, Civil Lines, and Malviya Nagar helped me get around to popular sites like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Albert Hall Museum, and Nahargarh Fort without much effort.

The peaceful surroundings in Jaipur made every evening more relaxing

The thing I liked most about this trip was coming back to our hotel in the evening after seeing all of Jaipur during the day. Instead of streets with constant noise and busy markets, I experienced streets lined with trees and quiet cafes and local restaurants.

These evenings were also quite an experience for me because I stayed longer to enjoy dinner and walk around the place.

Choosing the right stay in Jaipur made exploring easier

It became clear to me that choosing a place to stay was not just based on luxury or affordability. The location is equally significant. Staying in a calm locality means being able to start sightseeing early, avoid traffic jams during peak rush hours, and go back anytime without getting tired.

In Jaipur, several hotels in the above-mentioned neighbourhoods provided me with comfortable rooms, fine dining facilities, large common areas, and major road access.

Jaipur still felt lively whenever I wanted it to

My isolation did make me feel like I was being separated from the hustle and bustle of the city. Whenever I wanted to visit places such as Johari Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar, Jal Mahal, and Amer Fort, they would be brought to my doorstep via local public transport and app-based cab services.

This was the perfect balance that I found appealing. I could experience the culture of Jaipur throughout the day and come back to a completely contrasting place.

Final thoughts

Until this journey, my assumption had been that staying near the most popular attractions of Jaipur was the way to go. However, choosing accommodations in a quiet part of the city gave me an entirely new perspective of my exploration of the destination possible. This helped me experience both sides of Jaipur.

If you plan to visit Jaipur soon, avoid focusing solely on hotels that are located in the heart of the city. Look for properties in Jaipur that are situated in quiet parts of the city, like Civil Lines and Bani Park, but at the same time have great access to popular sites.
